![]() ![]() there was SO MUCH STUFF in each of them, which is unusual for escape rooms, which are typically pretty pared down to avoid too many distractions. We really enjoyed the layered aspect of the rooms we did, and were completed impressed by the immersive nature of the rooms. I find that to be true of escape rooms in general and spend a lot of energy figuring out how to book so we can them by ourselves (without paying for the whole room, of course), so it was comforting to know that the four of us would be on our own in there. she said that the rooms are too small, too scary, and no fun with people you don't know. One of the best parts about this escape room venue is that Julie says that she won't ever shove strangers in with you just to make more money. this is a different experience and it is equally worth experiencing, and I assume it would be even better if you like being in thrilling/scary situations (we do not but we still enjoyed them). These are not slick professional sterile escape rooms. The two rooms that we did were not particularly difficult (but like I said, we've done A LOT of rooms, so we're pretty good at figuring them out by now), but we really enjoyed the experience even if we didn't end up with the adrenaline rush of entering the last code/key in the last 10 seconds. We've done a lot of escape rooms (oh, the money we've spent to make people lock us in rooms) and this was very different from anything we'd done before! It was dark, which I found daunting at first but as our eyes adjusted and we got used to the provided flashlights, it added to the fun and mystery of the setting. our gamemaster definitely made us jump a few times (though she said she didn't have to if we didn't want the full haunted experience, so don't worry about that if you are taking kids in. It was again, an amazingly immersive experience, and a bit "scarier" than The Wine Cellar. ![]() We loved it so much that we ended up asking to be locked in The Hunted, which is apparently their most popular room. It was a great choice for us, and not just because we like wine! We were NOT looking for a "haunted" escape room, just an escape room, so Julie recommended that we try Wine Cellar Terror, which is rated low on thrills and medium high on difficulty. I appreciated her enthusiasm and couldn't wait to meet her! ![]() She was so helpful and charismatic and chatty and excited about escape rooms. We chose to visit The Key first (on our way in to Indy) because Julie, the person I talked to on the phone when I called, was AWESOME. We are a team of four experienced escape room escapers(?) and we traveled to Indianapolis just to do escape rooms for a weekend (we did seven in two days). ![]()
